What is this thing, that's happened to us what is this mess that we call love angels below, and The Devil above what is this mess that we call love She was putting him on like a pair of fuzzy slippers He was letting her down like a broken elevator She was checking her phone, cuz maybe it would save her they were packing it up, they were packing it up, they were packing it up and saving it for later save it for la-ter She was sleeping in the tub till they got some sunny weather He was smoking again just to take a little breather They were stuck on the road with a broken carburetor they were packing it up, they were packing it up, they were packing it up and saving it for later save it for la-ter What is this thing, that's happened to us what is this mess that we call love angels below, and The Devil above what is this mess that we call love what is this mess that we call love what is this mess that we call love what is this mess that we call love

Nothing left to say,  nothing more to try... so bite your tongue and come with me for some rebellious exercise The moon has a cold pale smile and when she's smiling just on you hold your broken breath take a little step and she'll see you through Oh me, oh my it was only yesterday when we would go swimming  along the shoreline oh my, oh me something got lost at sea and they took you away in the middle of the night not without a fight that's right we're going out tonight take that dress out of the closet lace your slippers up tight that's right we're going out tonight don't fuss don't fight it let's leave this place behind you're staring at the sky all night their candy makes you sleep all day I'll put a star onto your finger, our enemies will sing about how we got away I won't sit passively by and watch them cut your world apart I've got a five point plan on the palm of my hand and I know you can hotwire a car we would go on the big swing and see the clouds beneath our feet you would laugh and sing and whistle between your crooked teeth there's a Dairy Queen  where the swing set used to be I can buy you ice cream just to see you smile between your crooked teeth smile between your crooked teeth just to see you smile between your crooked teeth Oh me, oh my it was only yesterday when we would go swimming  along the shoreline oh my, oh me something got lost at sea and they took you away in the middle of the night that's right we're going out tonight take that dress out of the closet lace your slippers up tight that's right we're going out tonight don't fuss don't fight it let's leave this place behind I'll put a star onto your finger, our enemies will sing about how we got away

Murderer 03:57
He: The air is still, the moon a yellow fingernail It smells like gin beneath the junipers A scraping sound, shovel in the muddy ground I hope you brought a change of shoes Sin or crime, I think we might have crossed a line I fear my dear there is no turning back Do you recall the moment when we lost it all A clenched fist going slack Murderer, whatcha gonna do I'm a murderer too Murderer, say it cuz its true You're a murderer too Your pouty lip, chewing on a fingertip A troubled look across your face Narrow squint did we wipe the fingerprints How can we be sure that we left no trace [Chorus] Listen dear, we have a situation here Someone’s picking up what we put down Oh my word, I got it from a little bird It might be better if we're not around

I never had a chance to work it out I never had the time to get it right I always had a feeling in my heart but the feeling's never right I was going to learn a little dance I was going to sweep you off your feet look into your eyes and tell you secret things that would frighten you and me I never had a chance to work it out, I never had a chance [repeat 4x] I never felt the sound of falling rain until I heard a knock upon my door it came as quite a shock when the clouds bust on the inside of my head I never had a chance to work it out, I never had a chance [repeat 4x] I remember the things we did, la la la la la la la going over and over again, la la la la la la la all the things that were never said, la la la la la la la on the inside of my head I was going to write a little song and sing it in your ear I was going to hold you tight when you can't hold back the tears my heart is like a broken little bird trying to escape it's ivory cage I got the feeling that today it's going to fly so far away I never had a chance to work it out, I never had a chance [repeat 8x] I remember the things we did, la la la la la la la going over and over again, la la la la la la la all the things that were never said, la la la la la la la on the inside of my head

Walk with me for a while through the parking lot where the boats glide by as the sun settles down in the Upper West Side we'll leave solid ground behind. put our faces to the wind tell stories and secrets of lovers and friends or say nothing at all do the east river ferry waltz queens softly snores she's gotta wake up for work in the morning manhattan's a drunken mess passed out in her silver party dress as we bump into Brooklyn shore we'll stumble like drunkards across the floor with a step 2 3, step 2 3, step 2 3 turn step 2 3, step 2 3, step 2 3 turn do the east river ferry waltz when the waters rise again, never to come back down we'll sail between tall buildings where we used to work uptown and an orchestra of seagulls will be the only sound we'll turn and face each other and do the east river ferry waltz the breeze can blow good things to you but the tide will pull them away let's enjoy this time between us two with the intimate lopsided sway of the east river ferry waltz

about

Kotorino Brooklyn, New York

WNYC says:
…Kotorino has one of the most unique and unusual sounds of any band, ever. Even in a music scene saturated with “chamber-pop” bands and odd instrumentation, Kotorino stands out with its use of all variety of winds, strings, and other musical gadgetry. The music itself is omnivorous in its source material, quite pretty, and downright haunting ... more
